Fighting Infodemics: Warning Labels and Antidotes to Mis- and Disinformation

Dr. Beth Vallen, Professor of Marketing, and Dr. Jeremy Kees, the Richard J. and Barbara Naclerio Endowed Chair in Business and Professor of Marketing, both at Villanova University, will deliver the 2024 Kellstadt Lecture.

Their lecture, “Fighting Infodemics: Warning Labels and Antidotes to Mis- and Disinformation,” will discuss the formation of misinformation and disinformation, recognized as global threats to democracy, public health, consumer information, and social cohesion. The presenters then offer a framework and creative ideas to stimulate research helping to counteract infodemics via disclosures and warning labels. They are Co-Editors of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing (an "A" journal in the marketing field). Both have been named Poets & Quants “Best Undergraduate Business Professors."
