Career & Networking Opportunities

The Marquette network, Business Career Center resources, and College of Business Administration industry connectivity add tremendous value to students in Graduate School of Management (GSM) programs.

Business Career Center Resources

Business Career Center resources provide support to all business students and alumni.  Graduate business students may access recruiting events, the Handshake career platform, and individual career planning appointments.  Annual recruiting events include campus-wide career fairs as well as specialized events in finance, information systems, supply chain, analytics, human resources, marketing, accounting and real estate.

Alumni Resources & Mentoring

Within the Marquette alumni community, you'll always have a mentor, a colleague and a way to give back.  The opportunities for connections and career growth are immense with over 20,000 business alumni and 100,000 Marquette alumni.

GSM students may also engage in mentoring programs, receiving support from alumni and/or through giving back by offering support to undergraduate students.

Through the Marquette Career Network online platform, GSM students may:

  • Be matched with alumni based on interests and career goals to facilitate career networking, mentorship and job shadow opportunities
  • Ask career-related questions through industry specific discussion forums
  • Access multiple online resources to help with your career discernment process
  • Access a job board featuring experienced professional positions

Through the award-winning program, Marquette Mentors matches students with one-on-one opportunities to learn from Marquette alumni mentors in approximately 25 states and Europe who have similar majors or career interests. Throughout the academic year, mentees receive professional and career insights.  Applications to participate are accepted each September.

Industry Connections & Events

Since opening in January 2023, O’Brien Hall has supported expanded industry connections through a variety of learning, networking, and career-focused events. This new, 100% donor-funded building is located within the heart of campus and designed to foster collaboration between Marquette Business students and industry, ensuring your future professional success at Marquette University and beyond!

In particular, the College’s Centers & Programs of Excellence bridge industry and academics through research, teaching, and experiential collaborations.  Annual conferences and symposiums in Commercial Banking, Real Estate, ESG, and Supply Chain, and guest speakers through Economics, Marketing, the Business Leadership Forum, and Women in Business events provide valuable learning and networking opportunities.
